L’oscar London welcomes new head chef

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

L’oscar London has welcomed Allan Pickett as its newest head chef for the hotel’s restaurant.

Pickett brings with him a wealth of experience, having been involved in many kitchens including the Standard hotel, where he did the opening as executive head chef, as well as his role as head chef at Orrery Restaurant where he retained a Michelin Star.

His knowledge on British ingredients, paired with his classical French training, reportedly complements the restaurant’s “decadent dining and opulent style”.

The restaurant is situated in the L’oscar London hotel, the former headquarters of a Baptist Church, which has since undergone a transformation under the French designer and architect, Jacques Garcia.

Both the restaurant and hotel are filled with interiors showcasing purple and red hues throughout. The Onyx bar which features in L’oscar Restaurant has mirrored ceilings, gilded panels and original art to create “charm and sophistication”.
