Gino D’Acampo to open restaurant and bar at Leeds Marriott Hotel

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Gino D’Acampo will be opening a new upmarket Italian restaurant and bar at the recently refurbished Leeds Marriott Hotel, with work on the new venue is supposed to start today (10 January).

The latest project, which will see an investment of £1.5m in the building, also strikes a partnership with Marriott Hotels International and Hamilton-Pyramid Europe

The new restaurant will reportedly feature a marble bar complete with lounge area, a cicchetti bar, deli, 160-seater open plan restaurant, as well as an outdoor terrace.

According to the restaurant designer, Bernard Carroll, the design, look and feel of the space will be “glamorous and opulent”.

The restaurant is set to be open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner until late, as well as prepare in-room dining for the hotel’s guests.

The venue is due to open this spring and create 52 new jobs.

D’Acampo said: “I couldn’t be more pleased to announce plans for Gino D’Acampo at Leeds Marriott Hotel. I have a long relationship with the city, having opened one of my first restaurants in Leeds almost eight years ago.

“I’m thrilled to return with the opening of my new upmarket Italian restaurant and bar, which I promise will be something else. We’ve been looking for the perfect location for some time and at Leeds Marriott Hotel we have found it.”

Alan Malloy, general manager at Leeds Marriott Hotel, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Gino and his team and can’t wait to welcome guests this spring. Our goal is to bring the very best choice in upmarket dining to our hotel guests and local audience.

“Our partnership with Gino D’Acampo could not be a better fit and we are looking forward to the opening of this fabulous restaurant and bar in the heart of our hotel.”
