Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa in Newquay has conducted a major refurbishment of its food and dining spaces.
The hotel said it aimed to create a place for “laid-back socialising, dining and drinking”, using local suppliers.
The design of the bar includes neutral tones of a hanging rope ceiling feature in Bay Bar complemented by blue hues captured in the seating spaces that mimic the famous landscapes of Fistral Beach. The Dune restaurant also features rustic woven lampshades from Lin Lovekin Baskets.
The hotel introduced raised flooring throughout both areas to ensure that guests have an uninterrupted view of the stunning seascapes on offer.
Laura Cameron, operations director, said: “Whilst it’s hard to put into words the
impact of raising floor levels, I think the view speaks for itself. The new furnishings just work to complement and highlight those views across Fistral and we wanted to create a new relaxing space that carries guests from coffee to cocktails, sunshine to storm watching.
“Bringing in more natural elements to complement our existing wood cladding from Tom Raffield was important, as was our continued relationships with local suppliers which include Dick Pearce Bellyboards and locally made willow shades to enhance this vision.”
She added: “The transformation we have been able to complete in a tight turnaround of two weeks is down to the incredible hard work of our teams and our wonderful contractors. Shutting for any amount of time for refurbishment is always hard especially when access is restricted to the spa and gym. We thank our teams and members for their support during this flurry of refurbishment.”
