Accor appoints director of Media Relations & PR for Northern Europe

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Accor has appointed Silvia de Candia as director of Media Relations & PR for Northern Europe.

In her new role, de Candia will be responsible for the positioning of the Accor Group and its Premium, Midscale and Economy division in over 30 countries across the region.

She will be based in London, and is supported by a “strong” team of PR and media relations professionals across Europe, including the United Kingdom and Germany, as well as Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS region.

De Candia joins Accor from Wyndham Hotels and Resorts where she held the position of Head of PR and Communications for Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa.

She has over ten years of experience in PR and communications and has held global and multinational roles for various agencies, including Edelman and Dentsu.

De Candia replaces Sarah Wilson, who remains with Accor as VP, Global Commercial Communications.

The Premium, Midscale and Economy division was created as part of Accor’s restructure in 2022, to introduce “distinctive and focused expertise”.

The division features a “well-established and diverse” portfolio of premium, economy and midscale hotel brands such as Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, and ibis, amongst others.
