Bugis Kitchen has announced the launch of its new site in Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington.
Named after an “iconic” area in Singapore filled with “bustling” streets and diverse culinary offerings, Bugis Kitchen draws inspiration from the “vibrant” flavours of Pan Asian cuisine.
The restaurant reinvents Singaporean heritage dishes and transforms them into modern Singapore cuisine known as ‘mod-Sin’. Bugis Kitchen’s culinary pan-Asian menu will offer traditional Singaporean dishes such as laksa, Hainanese chicken rice, and fried wontons, but with a contemporary twist that tantalises the taste buds.
Bugis Kitchen also draws inspiration from the hawker centres in Singapore where locals have been enjoying traditional food in open-air complexes for decades. While there may be a roof overhead for diners of the Bugis Kitchen, it will serve street-food from the “bustling streets” of Singapore where a melting pot of Malay, China, and Thai cuisine awaits.
Alongside Bugis Kitchen, guests can also opt for an afternoon tea in Kensington’s only Tea Lounge and an array of English dishes at the hotel’s Brasserie Restaurant and Bar.
Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington features 833 bedrooms, including seven suites and five family suites. Copthorne Hotels is the midscale brand of Millennium Hotels and Resorts. The group maintains sites in London, Singapore, Doha, Auckland, and Dubai.
Philip Bell, general manager, The Copthorne Tara Hotel, said: “The team here at The Copthorne Tara are pleased to launch the Bugis Kitchen where we celebrate the fusion of tradition and innovation, offering a menu curated with care and passion by our talented culinary team.
“From tantalising street food classics to contemporary interpretations of Singaporean favourites, each dish is crafted with the freshest ingredients and infused with the bold and aromatic flavours that define Singaporean cuisine.”
