Ardshiel Hotel in Campbeltown hits the market

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Ardshiel Hotel in Campbeltown has been brought to market for an undisclosed sum.

The hotel is set in an original Victorian-era villa and was used as a family home until it was converted to a hotel in the 1950’s.

The property features 10 en-suite letting rooms, a bar, lounge and garden restaurant, along with an external beer garden and three bedroom owners accommodation.

Specialist business property adviser Christie and Co is handling the sale on behalf of the owners, who plan to retire from the hospitality industry.

Tony Spence, associate director at Christie and Co, said: “Our clients have owned the business since 2008 and are now selling due to retirement from the trade.

“Since owning the hotel, our clients have invested a significant amount of capital and there is therefore no requirement for any further capex, this has in turn created a profitable and sustainable business for the incoming purchaser to naturally grow going forward.”
