Four female leaders at The Belfry Hotel pick up industry awards

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

The Belfry Hotel and Resort in the Midlands has revealed that its senior leaders Kristen Price, Emma Caterall, Rekha Lyons and Anna Nilsson have been recognised with prestigious award wins.

People director Kirsten Price has been crowned ‘people manager of the Year’ at the Hotel Cateys 2024, having been praised by the judges for the strong people-centric culture she has created and her ability to inspire those around her to deliver exceptional results.

Price said: “I am overjoyed. Without a doubt, our Belfry people are at the heart of the resort’s success, which is why I’m so passionate about creating an environment in which they feel appreciated, motivated, inspired and encouraged. I will always strive to deliver this for them.”

Finance director Emma Catterall has taken home the ‘Inspirational Finance Leader of the Year Award’ at the HOSPA Awards 2024 for her outstanding leadership and significant impact.

Catterall said: “What a delight it is to have won this award, and to stand alongside so many brilliant peers in the finance sector and wider hospitality industry. I know the resort will thrive long into the future, and I can’t wait to play my part in that success.”

Meanwhile, head of event sales Rekha Lyons has been named winner of the Individual Award at the miaList Awards 2024, which celebrates teams and individuals that are shaping the meetings and events industry.

In addition, deputy head greenkeeper of the Brabazon Golf Course at The Belfry, Anna Nilsson, has been recognised with the ‘Women in Turfcare Award’ at the Women in Golf Awards 2024. As the first woman to manage a championship course, the award pays tribute to her “unwavering” dedication, expertise and passion.

Chris Eigelaar, resort director at The Belfry, added: “Kirsten, Emma, Rekha and Anna are invaluable assets to The Belfry. Four talented, innovative and inspiring women who have each played an intrinsic role in the resort’s success. As these awards only serve to demonstrate, they are leaders in their fields with a wealth of knowledge to contribute to the hospitality industry, and we couldn’t be prouder of their phenomenal achievements.”
