The Castle Inn Hotel located near Bassenthwaite Lake in the heart of the Lake District has been put up for sale off a guide price of £3.25m.

The Castle Inn Hotel comprises 45 en-suite guest bedrooms with a further three bedrooms which are currently used by the owners as office space.

The property also features The Castle Inn Tavern and Ritson’s Restaurant, along with “extensive” conferencing and events facilities. Additionally, the hotel benefits from a leisure club with a gym and indoor heated swimming pool.

Located approximately one mile from Bassenthwaite village, the hotel is said to lie in one of the most “picturesque spots in the whole of Cumbria”.

Tom Cunningham, director at Savills Manchester who is handling the sale, said: “Opportunities to acquire freehold assets in the Lake District don’t come about very often, so we’re delighted to be bringing The Castle Inn Hotel to market on behalf of our client.

“Set in an iconic location, with well-presented amenities, we’re expecting strong interest in this property.”
