Carden Park Hotel in Chester has announced that it will break away from the De Vere Group to become an independent hotel, after a 14 year management contract.
The 196-bedroom hotel, set in Cheshire’s countryside, will now undergo a refurbishment of its bedrooms and public areas which is expected to be completed in early 2015.
Hamish Ferguson, general manager, said: “This is a very exciting time for everyone as we start the next chapter as an independently managed hotel. There will be many new opportunities and challenges along the way but we have a strong and confident team who are looking forward to developing the hotel and enhancing our offering to the market.
“We pride ourselves on providing a variety of experiences for all occasions and will continue to do this while delivering the highest quality services to all of our guests.”
Originally opening in 1996, the hotel was recently awarded the Gold award in the Green Tourism Business Programme.
