The Grade II Corinium Hotel in Cirencester has hit the market for an asking price of £295,000.
The 15-letting bedroom hotel has retained original 17th Century features while modernising for the 21st Century hospitality industry.
The Corinium Hotel in Cirencester is a Grade II listed three star hotel which includes a Georgian façade, Victorian extension as well as a 20th century bar, with 21st century reception area. It also has a carriage arch front entrance from Gloucester Street which is a nod to its place in the town’s history.
As well as overnight accommodation the business has a bar with 30 covers and a restaurant offering for 60-covers with original stone walls and timber features as well as open fires. The current owners are selling the business due to the opportunity to bring forward their own retirement plans.
Located in Cirencester, which was recently voted the “Best Place to Live in the South West”, the hotel attracts both UK and international tourism throughout the year, which results in a strong accommodation trade, but it is also perfectly placed in the town to be a destination for residents from the town, and the surrounding region.
Peter Brunt, from Colliers’ specialist Hotels team, who is marketing the hotel, said: “The Corinium Hotel is in a strong position in the beautiful town of Cirencester, at the heart of the Cotswolds. The trade at the hotel benefits from a good mix of customers who come to enjoy both food and beverage, as well as having a strong rooms business driving strong profits.
“Having been a regular customer earlier on in my career in property as our offices were next door, I’ve seen the business grow and develop and since it last changed hands there has been significant investment in the business which has resulted in an increase in room rates as well as consistent custom in the bar and restaurant. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career in hospitality or for those wanting the experience of running their own business as they ease into retirement.”
