Travel review website TripAdvisor has today announced the launch of its new Apple Watch app.

The app, which has features designed specifically for the Apple Watch, provides access to TripAdvisor traveller reviews, ratings and photos of hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The Apple Watch includes a new feature called ‘Glances’, which allows users to get updates from their favourite apps with a quick swipe of the watch face.

The TripAdvisor Glance will provide recommendations to help users of the app discover nearby points of interest based on the person’s location and time of day.

Additional features include ‘walking directions’, which showed travellers their current location and provides directions using Apple Maps, ‘Saves’, which allows travellers to save their favourite hotels and attractions, and ‘helpful search options’, which lets users adjust their search range for points of interest.

Adam Medros, senior vice president of global product at TripAdvisor, said: “With the launch of the TripAdvisor Apple Watch app, users can now carry the invaluable insights of millions of travellers on their wrists.

“Whether around town or travelling somewhere new, the app helps make exploring on-the-go even more elegant and effortless.”

The TripAdvisor Apple Watch app will be available from the Apple Watch App Store on April 24.
