Portobello Road Gin to open London’s first gin hotel

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Premium gin brand Portobello Road Gin has revealed plans to open its own multi-million pound distillery and hotel in London.

Opening later this year, The Distillery, which will be the capital’s first distillery that guests can stay the night in, will aim to provide a ‘haven for gin buffs’ and will be located on London’s Portobello Road.

The Distillery will have four floors and include features such as a gin museum, blending rooms, a Spanish-style ‘Gintonic’ bar and restaurant, a gin shop, boutique hotel rooms for guests and a distillery.

Guests will also be able to take part in the ‘Ginstitute’ – a concept where visitors can learn about the history of gin, create their own unique gin recipes and enrol in gin-making classes.

Ged Feltham, co-founder of Portobello Road Gin, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of The Distillery on Portobello Road. Our roots have played an important factor in the success of the brand and it’s incredibly exciting to be able to grow and continue producing in Notting Hill.

“The Distillery will prove to be a mecca for all fans of the drink and will, we believe, become the finest address in gin.”
