AccorHotels has announced it will open the world’s tallest Novotel in London’s Canary Wharf later this year.

The Novotel Canary Wharf, located on 40 Marsh Street, is set to be 127 metres high and will be one of the tallest buildings in the area.

The hotel will feature 313 rooms – including 26 suites – nine meeting rooms and breakout areas, all of which the company said will have innovative and individual designs.

Thomas Dubaere, managing director of AccorHotels UK & Ireland, said: “We’re excited to make this announcement. More information will follow in due course including details of the cutting edge restaurant and bar concepts included in the hotel and the building’s sustainability credentials.

“Canary Wharf will be the flagship Novotel for AccorHotels UK & Ireland and will significantly strengthen our portfolio.”

The hotel is a marquee investment for AccorHotels’ HotelInvest division, which was formed in November 2013 when the group took the decision to split its business into two – HotelServices, a hotel operator and franchisor, and HotelInvest, a hotel owner and investor.
