Pub and hotel chain JD Wetherspoon has announced it is to open one new hotel and eight pubs within the next six week, with another hotel opening later this year.
The first of the eight pubs, The Booking Office, will open at Edinburgh’s Waverley train station on Tuesday 14 June, with a further seven pubs opening in Newton le Willows, Largs, Northolt, Formby, Huntingdon, Chatham and Okehampton.
The two hotels will be attached to two of the new pubs, with the first property opening at the Northolt pub and the second opening at the Huntingdon pub in September.
John Hutson, chief executive, said: “We are looking forward to opening our new pubs and hotels, a number of which are in towns where we are not yet represented.”
