Former Best Western chief joins Procure Wizard

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

David Clarke, the former chief executive of Best Western Hotels, has been appointed as non-executive director of Procure Wizard.

Procure Wizard is a new technology company that delivers online purchasing solutions to the hospitality industry, something David Clarke was keen to emphasise when commenting on his appointment: “Procure Wizard is a really exciting company, bringing new thinking to the hospitality sector. I was really impressed with the technology and its potential to transform procurement across the industry; which is still reliant on old-fashioned telephone ordering and invoicing.”

Clarke was acknowledged for his role in transforming and re-branding Best Western during his six years as chief executive of the group. Remarking on his appointment at Procure Wizard, the founder and managing director, William Gorol, commented: “We are delighted that David Clarke is joining the Procure Wizard team. It’s a real coup to get an industry heavyweight like David on board and I’m sure he’ll be a great asset in helping create awareness about Procure Wizard, both within the UK and internationally.”
