In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

The price of staying in a hotel in London has fallen by around a quarter in the last two weeks alone.

Average room rates between 27 July and 12 August are currently £160 a night, which still remains 75 per cent higher than the same time in 2011. However, in just two weeks, this price has fallen from around £202 per night, and the website which published these statistics, Hotels.com, said that prices are starting from a mere £59 per night.

Hotels.com’s Seamus MacCormaic said: “Falling prices are encouraging for the consumers and there is still good availability across London in all classes of hotel. Demand for these rooms is likely to come from the domestic market now, as it may be too late for long-haul travellers to make plans to visit.”
