In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Another Place – the hotel collection set up by Watergate Bay Hotel’s managing director Will Ashworth – is to launch in the UK next year.

The collection’s first hotel, Another Place, The Lake, is set to open in Ullswater, Cumbria, next August following £3.5m worth of funding from investment firm Actev to transform the 18th Century building from a 19-bedroom to a 40-bedroom hotel.

The development will also include the addition of a number of family suites, dog-friendly rooms and contemporary spaces.

Another Place, which is being run independently from Watergate Bay Hotel, plans to open six properties in 10 years with the aspirations to also move into Northern Europe and America. Each property will reflect the design and landscapes of their distinct location.

A statement from the company said: “Another Place is growing at a pace that gives it time enough to instil in its hotels qualities that are instinctive and relevant, yet surprising and refined. There’s more to come. Watch this space.”
