Some 123 guests were evacuated from the hotel as a precaution, while crews in airtight suits investigated the leak.
A small chlorine leak from a pipe was discovered and fire and rescue crews were able to isolate it and ventilate the room. An engineer was then called to repair the leak.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that nobody was injured and the incident was dealt with just before 9am.
