VisitEngland chief executive to visit York

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Chief executive of VisitEngland James Berresford will visit York to speak at the Tourism Society Yorkshire’s lunch on 7 September.

James’ talk, titled ‘Post Olympic Pointers’, will update those in attendance on VisitEngland’s strategy following the recent announcement that the government will boost its ‘GREAT’ campaign by £2 million.

Tourism Society Yorkshire chairman John Gallery said: “We are very pleased that James has agreed to come to Yorkshire again to update colleagues on the national campaign following the huge success of the London 2012 Olympic Games in which Yorkshire’s athletes played such a huge part. There are opportunities to capitalise on the legacy of the Games and James will share ideas, listen to comments and explain how Yorkshire will benefit.”

Former BBC and Sky Television presenter Julia Kaye will also be at the event; hosting a presentation on challenges facing ‘Green Tourism’.
