Rockliffe hall concierge named in UK’s top 10

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

A member of Rockliffe Hall’s concierge team has been named as one of the top 10 in the UK after claiming a spot in the Morris Golden Keys Concierge Awards.

Jim Stretton, head concierge at the 5-star hotel in Hurworth, Darlington, has only been a member of the Society of Golden Keys since joining Rockliffe Hall 18 months ago but he received his nomination for the top 10 due to his exceptional levels of service, skills and passion for the role.

The annual awards, now in their seventh year, were held at the historic Banqueting House in Whitehall, London and were attended by some of the leading names in the hotel industry.

Jim was honoured alongside concierges from major hotels brands such as Hilton, Marriott and InterContinental. Commenting on his achievement, Jim said he was “a bit shocked when he found out”.

“I’m just doing a job that I love – it doesn’t even feel like a job. I love meeting people and we get some amazing guests at Rockliffe Hall so every day is a pleasure. I was even more surprised to be named in the top 10 as I was only accepted into the Society of Golden Keys 18 months ago, shortly after joining Rockliffe Hall.

“Many of the other winners have been in the society for a lot longer, so I am really quite overwhelmed,” he added.

Managing director of Rockliffe Hall, Nick Holmes, said: “We get hundreds of lovely comments every week about Jim. Nothing phases him and he really does deserve this recognition up against some of the biggest brands in the industry.

“His patience, sense of humour and expansive knowledge of the area – and so many other things – make him such an outstanding member of our team and we’re all really proud of the achievement.”
