Ryanair announces ‘Ryanair Rooms Direct’ open day for hotels

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

European airline group Ryanair has announced an open day for hotel owners and operators, offering them the chance to ‘go direct’ and to list their rates and availability on its Ryanair Rooms website.

The scheme gives hotel groups access to 130m potential customers per year and allows them to avoid the high commissions paid to online travel agents.

The event will take place on the 19 February 2018 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London, letting independent and chain hotel operators sign their properties up with the new programme.

Greg O’Gorman, Ryanair’s director of revenue, said: “We are pleased to announce the first in a series of ‘Ryanair Rooms Direct’ open days in cities across Europe, the first of which will be held in London in February, to give even more hotels and guesthouses the chance to sign up with Ryanair Rooms Direct.

“Hotels can list their inventory for the lowest commission available in the market, and find out how they can promote their properties directly on Ryanair.com to 130m annual customers in 33 countries across Europe.”
