Preliminary plans have been submitted by Morris Leslie, a plant machinery group, for a £33.8m tourism and leisure development at West Kinfauns, Perthshire.
Included in the proposals is a four-star 120 to 150-bed hotel that will “seek to accomodate an internationally recognised brand”, according to the Herald.
Some 80,000 visitors are expected to visit the site annually, providing up to 170 direct on-site jobs upon completion.
Moreover, the development will comprise lodge-style cabins, a museum, and retail space, as the developer looks to capitalise on the “perfect opportunity” to expand tourism in the local area.
Morris Leslie, Morris Leslie chairman, said via the Herald: “Well-connected to the surrounding road network, including the A90, this premium destination will provide a gateway to Perth, to the surrounding area and beyond.
“The proposed scheme is of a scale that can support additional development and is ideally placed in terms of transport connection. It is also in a beautiful location with wonderful views.”
A Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) has been submitted to Perth and Kinross Council, with a 12-week consultation period reportedly to be followed by a full planning application.
