A fire broke out at the Cottesmore Hotel Golf and Country Club in Pease Pottage, Sussex, yesterday evening.

Fire crews were on site tackling the large fire at the property.

In a statement, the hotel said: “Due to a devastating fire in the club house Cottesmore will be closed today. All the guests and staff are safe. Thank you for everyone’s support through this difficult time.”

No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
