Radisson Hotel Group has added The Gonville Hotel to its Radisson Individuals brand, effective 27 May 2026.
The 92-bedroom property, located opposite Parker’s Piece in Cambridge, was originally built in 1830 as a house for senior fellows of Gonville and Caius College.
The hotel features eight exclusive bedrooms within its historic Gresham House, which includes interiors inspired by the Cambridge University Botanic Garden.
The property holds a Green Tourism Gold award and offers guests complimentary tours of the city in vintage chauffeur-driven Bentleys.
The affiliation allows the hotel to remain independent and family-run while benefiting from the group’s global scale.
Radisson Individuals was launched in 2020 as a conversion brand for independent hotels that want to maintain their unique identity while utilising the group’s loyalty programme and infrastructure.
The hotel’s dining offering includes the two-AA-rosette Gonville Kitchen and the Long Bar, which hosts live jazz.
Wellness facilities are provided at the Gresham House Wellness spa, which operates in partnership with luxury brand ESPA.
The property is situated within a 15-minute walk of the city’s railway station and major university colleges. It also includes five meeting rooms with a capacity for up to 100 guests.
Joep Peeters, chief operating officer for franchise in EMEA, said: “This beautiful and historic property perfectly embodies the spirit of Radisson Individuals offering guests a distinctive stay that celebrates local character, heritage and high-quality hospitality.”
David Chaplin, chairman of The Gonville Hotel, added: “The ‘Radisson Individuals’ brand will enable us to be a fully participating Radisson Hotels member while retaining the family run feel of a Cambridge hotel. At a time when international reach is increasingly important, we expect that our affiliation will enable us to take the hotel to the next level of guest engagement.”
