Glenridding hotel to undergo external refurb

The Inn Collection Group (ICG) has announced renovations on the Glenridding hotel are set to begin this month after the Patterdale property was given planning permission.

ICG are working with the Newcastle Studio of national architects GSSArchitecture and hope to “maximise the opportunities presented from the stunning location”.

The new plans include a new canopied entrance and the external facades will undergo comprehensive refurbishment, including sympathetic window replacement, roof replacements and new signage.

Acquired by ICG in February last year, the planning application was submitted last July after being developed by ICG and its design team.

“The Glenridding Hotel is an iconic site that we were delighted to bring into the group and we are excited to get works started on a redevelopment that we are confident guests will love them once completed.”

Simon Rennison-Rae, partner at GSSArchitecture, said: “We are thrilled that the works at Glenridding have been granted planning permission, which is a great result for the local area and The Inn Collection’s continued investment in the region.

“The historic hotel is in need of some careful renovations that GSS are excited to bring back to life. The Inn Collection Group is a great client to work with and we are excited to see this project progress on site in the new year!”
