The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, a global collection of luxury hotels including The Landmark London, Royal Lancaster, K West Hotel and Spa and Basil Street Apartments, has promoted Fergus Stewart to CEO of the group, following upwards of 20 months in the role of deputy MD.
Stewart, who remains in his position as general manager of Five Star Grand Dame Hotel, The Landmark London, has been promoted within the wider group, following a successful tenure, advancing his career to take the lead across all the hotels in London.
Heading up the team, Stewart will run several projects across the hotel group, as well as leading on growth and cross-hotel synergies and collaborations. At the centrally located Marylebone hotel, The Landmark London, Stewart is currently leading a £1.3m renovation and repositioning of the hotel.
The activation includes the introduction of a brand luxury Champagne Terrace – set for completion in April 2023 – and modern upgrades to the hotel.
It added the refurbishment reflects “Stewarts’ vision to establish The Landmark London as a standout destination, offering varied F&B outlets and luxury spaces”.
Renovations will also span across many of The Landmark London’s other well-known spaces including the Winter Garden Restaurant. The iconic space, famed for its towering palm trees, will see a refresh of the décor, foliage, flooring and lighting, the removal of white tablecloths and the implementation of new uniforms in a move to rejuvenate the concept.
Also included in the renovation plans is the development of a new suite and its Spa. The current renovations follow the launch of the new Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher, an authentic, warm and welcoming pub, which was re-opened in late-2022.
Alongside The Landmark London, Stewart will be leading the rebrand of K West Shepherds Bush into Hotel Indigo by IHG Hotels and Resorts. Due to re-open in Spring 2025, Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherds Bush, is undergoing a significant refurbishment and will feature a distinctive new design and destination restaurant and bar, plus a boutique spa with hydrotherapy pool and state-of-the-art business facilities and function rooms.
Prior to taking up the initial role as The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company’s deputy MD in 2021, Stewart held senior positions at several international Five Star luxury hotel brands, including senior VP and acting COO at Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts based in Dubai
Stewart said: “It’s a great honour to be promoted to the role of CEO at The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company. During my time as deputy managing director, we have made great progress with our hotels, namely in facilitating large scale renovations and repositioning of both The Landmark London and K West Hotel and Spa.
“There are some extremely exciting things in the pipeline, and I’m thrilled to be overseeing the growth of our destinations, teams and accolades across the board.”
