Pride of Britain Hotels (PoB), has appointed new board members, following the annual conference hosted at Grantley Hall in Yorkshire.

Co-owner Rohaise Rose-Bristow, who oversees operations at the Torridon hotel in Scotland, and Joanne Taylor-Stagg, general manager at The Athenaeum in London, have been appointed as board members.

The Torridon is a historic shooting lodge and has been a member of PoB Hotels since 2006. Rose-Bristow oversees operations across the hotel, from interior design to people management, and as a qualified coach, is passionate about “championing careers in the hospitality industry to young people”.

Meanwhile, Taylor-Stagg, who started her career in South Africa is now known across the industry as a “leading” general manager in the competitive London market. She is known for “passionately” advocating for her hotel, her team, and the sector, and has been recognised by a number of industry bodies.

Alongside the appointment of board members the hotel group has also achieved a prestigious silver certification from EarthCheck, symbolising its “unwavering dedication to sustainability and responsible travel”.

EarthCheck is a scientific benchmarking certification and advisory group for the travel and tourism industry.
In a recent survey conducted by PoB Hotels, it was revealed that a substantial 50% of its member hotels have identified sustainability initiatives as a top priority for the upcoming year. Furthermore, 30% of its member hotels have taken proactive measures by enrolling in sustainability accreditation programmes, enabling them to “quantitatively assess their environmental impact and track their progress in adopting best practices for the environment”.

Looking ahead PoB Hotels is set to unveil its inaugural Whitepaper this year, offering a comprehensive overview of the anticipated trends and outlook for 2024.

The Whitepaper draws its insights from an extensive survey that reached out to over 3,000 individuals, providing a broad and representative snapshot of UK attitudes toward the domestic hotel market.

According to PoB, the insights gathered from the Whitepaper will serve as the foundation for PoB Hotels’ strategic campaigns throughout the year 2024, ensuring that the entire collection “remains at the forefront of industry developments and guest expectations”.

Kalindi Juneja, the CEO of PoB Hotels, said: “As we celebrate the triumphs of the past year, our gaze is fixed on a promising 2024. I am eagerly anticipating the collaborative journey ahead with our newly appointed board members, Joanne and Rohaise. Additionally, I’m thrilled to continue our sustainability initiatives hand in hand with our esteemed hotel members.

“As outlined in our Whitepaper, the outlook for 2024 is positively radiant, with a heightened emphasis on personalised experiences, culinary indulgence, and wellness getaways firmly entrenched in our guests’ minds. These are the very areas where PoB Hotels will dedicate our unwavering efforts in the upcoming year, ensuring that our collection remains at the forefront of industry developments and guest expectations.”
