Yotel has appointed Paul Harnedy as chief operating officer to oversee its global hotel operations and commercial strategy.
The appointment coincides with two senior internal promotions as the London-headquartered company seeks to expand its presence across Europe, North America and Asia – Pacific.
The hotel group, which currently operates 23 properties, has launched a five-year growth plan to reach 100 hotels open and signed within the next five years.
The strategy is supported by an exclusive agreement with Hilton to secure additional international locations.
Harnedy joins the business from Cedar Capital Partners, where he was executive vice president and head of asset management.
He has more than 30 years of hospitality experience and previously held senior operational roles at Amaris Hospitality, Interstate Hotels and Resorts, and InterContinental Hotels Group.
The company has also promoted Michael Whitehead to senior vice president of people, talent and learning, while Ryan Dance becomes senior vice president of commercial strategy.
Whitehead has spent seven years with the business and will lead the global human resources function, while Dance will oversee integrated revenue management, marketing and digital commerce.
Phil Andreopoulos, chief executive, said: “Paul brings a wealth of operational experience across international, multi-brand hospitality businesses and a clear understanding of what it takes to deliver consistency at scale. Alongside the promotions of Ryan and Michael, these appointments reflect our focus on building the operational and commercial capability needed to support disciplined, sustainable growth as we expand in both new and existing markets.”
