7H adds Eight Acres Hotel Elgin to its portfolio

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. Hotel management firm 7H has been appointed as the operators for the Eight Acres Hotel in Elgin, Scotland.

The hotel is under the management of Perth-based 7H (UK), which is headed by managing director Richard Ellison and is one of the first steps taken to tactically reposition the hotel and add value to the asset.

The three-star 52-bed hotel was acquired by Thai-based Lake Merritt Hospitality Holdings off a guide price of £3.5m deal announced last week. It also has hotels in York, Edinburgh and Windermere which recently closed in preparation for a £5m upgrade.

7 Hospitality Management said it is “delighted” with the takeover of the hotel and added that the property is a “fantastic asset” to its fast-growing portfolio.

Ellison said: “We’re delighted to add Eight Acres to the 7H family. GM Brian Haddleton and his team are a great addition to our growing portfolio. The hotel sits in a great strategic position on the A96 and has great potential which we are excited to explore.”
