In this episode we speak to Nico Tréguer, co-founder of Roberts and Treguer and The Culpeper Family. Nico spoke about founding the group alongside his longtime friend Gareth, having had a vision for bringing more nature spaces to cities, the planned extension of The Buxton in Spitalfields, and how the site’s storytelling engages guests and the local community, how the Culpeper Family’s core sustainability ethos helped it secure its B-Corp status and why hospitality has a responsibility to educate and innovate when it comes to sustainability.

Bespoke Hotels has announced the appointment of Amy Windsor as the general manager for an upcoming site in Coventry

The Telegraph Hotel, which is currently being developed by Complex Development Projects (CDP), is set to open its doors later this year.

The four-star site will feature 88 bedrooms, duplex penthouse suites, a rooftop bar, restaurant and meetings and conference facilities. The new development is set to retain much of the original 1950s architecture of the building.

Windsor previously spent five years working as general manager for the Columba Hotel in Inverness, which was also operated by Bespoke Hotels.

Prior to her new appointment, she was general manager at the Birmingham-based Hallmark Hotels, where she oversaw three hotels over a four-year period.

She brings with her more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry, and was first appointed general manager at the age of 27, having begun her career at Jarvis Hotels.

Windsor said: “This hotel is being created in one of the city’s most iconic buildings, and to be a part of its birth is a real highlight of my career in the hotel industry.

“I have held almost every job possible in hotels throughout my career and have gained over 25 years’ worth of experience in running hotels so to be able to bring that experience to my new role will be invaluable.”

She added: “The concept of the Telegraph Hotel is something completely new to the region, and I believe we will be drawing visitors from across the country to stay in somewhere so unique.

“I am so impressed with the quality of the design so far which works so well with this classic building, while retaining some of the qualities of the history of the printing press in Coventry.”

Brian Harrabin, director at Complex Development Projects, said: “This truly is a remarkable building, and the work is progressing in transforming it into a stunning four-star hotel embracing some of the finest elements of the 50s design.

“So far, there has already been an impressive amount of interest in the work taking place and inquiries for bookings, with work on track to finish in Autumn this year.”

Bespoke Hotels will begin the recruitment process for further roles later in the year.

“The Telegraph Hotel opens at an important moment in Coventry’s history as we look towards 2021, and we are pleased to recruit Amy to her new role in helping to welcome the world to Coventry.”
