Best Western has welcomed two new members to its ‘PLUS’ hotel brand.
The two newly built hotels are the Best Western PLUS Maldron Hotel in Cardiff and the Best Western PLUS Park Grand London Heathrow Gateway. The hotels add a total of 328 bedrooms and conference facilities for 300 to its portfolio.
Managing director of Best Western, Keith Pope, said: “It’s very encouraging that these newly built hotels have chosen Best Western over other international hotel brands to be their partner.
“We’re now attracting new, bigger, high-quality hotels into membership as a result of the significant investment we’ve made into marketing and repositioning Best Western over the past 2 years.”
The new members take the number of hotels under the “PLUS” brand umbrella to 18.
Other new arrivals to join Best Western are the Appleby Park Hotel near Tamworth, and the Oaks Hotel in Burnley, both in the first quarter of 2012.
Pope added: “Both of these hotels are excellent additions to our range and emphasise our Hotels with Personality message – the Best Western Oaks Hotel being an old manor house and the Best Western Appleby Park a more modern purpose-built hotel.
“Very soon we’ll hit a new record of a million room nights a year booked, and I know all of these hotels will quickly be enjoying the benefits of Best Western membership.”
Member hotels of the Best Western group remain independently owned and managed, whilst operating according to strict guidelines from the group.
Best Western is the world’s largest hotel chain, with almost 4,200 hotels in 80 countries. There are more than 280 hotels with 15,800 bedrooms in the Best Western brand in Britain.
