As Afternoon Tea Week draws to a close, we’ve rounded up some of the latest tea-related updates in the hotel industry.

Ufford Park launches savoury and child-friendly afternoon tea

Ufford Park Hotel, Golf and Spa put a twist on afternoon tea with a savoury menu option. Featuring pies, sausage rolls, samosas and cheese scone, visitors with less of a sweet tooth were given the chance to enjoy the properties teatime.

The hotel also launched a child-friendly menu with a choice of soft drink, sandwiches, sausage roll, bananas and custard, a ‘Dino’ biscuit, a chocolate chip cookie, ready salted crisps and carrot and cucumber crudités and all for just £9.95.

Tarnia Robertson, Managing Director at Ufford Park said: “We enjoy innovating at Ufford Park and these new afternoon tea menus provide a different way for people to enjoy spending time with us.”

Ye Olde Bell treats guests to pampering tea sessions

Ye Olde Bell, launched a special afternoon tea special to celebrate the opening of their new multimillion pound spa.

The ‘Afternoon Unwind’ gives guest the opportunity to experience a typical English tea time whilst having access to the newly built spa.

The menu features a selection of finger sandwiches, mini patisserie, homemade scone with clotted cream and preserves with a choice of tea, coffee or champagne.

Guests are then able to select a complimentary 30-minute treatment of their choice.

The ‘Afternoon Unwind’ is priced at £85pp, it includes three hours spa access from 3-6pm, a 30-minute treatment and afternoon tea.

Condé Nast Johansens partners with Danish tea brand

Condé Nast Johansens has announced its partnership with a Scandi-cool range of Danish inspired tea.

The collaboration will introduce Hoogly Tea to luxury hotels, spas and venues throughout the UK and Ireland.

Created by Danish tea enthusiast and Brighton resident, Tina Gloggengieser, Hoogly Tea has its origins in the mindful hygge lifestyle, credited with making Denmark one of the happiest nations in the world.

Fiona Patrick, client services director of Condé Nast Johansens, said: “This young, vivacious brand has hit the spot in terms of capturing the essence of hygge. Hoogly’s range of exciting teas will appeal to the hotelier wishing to encourage guests to relax and unwind. We look forward to introducing Hoogly to our portfolio of properties.”

The Hoogly tea comes in 17 blends of black, white and green teas, as well as herbal infusions. The teas are all hand blended and personally developed by Tina, and draw on the central themes of hygge: togetherness, food, and celebration.
