Property owner Lana de Savary, wife of entrepreneur Peter de Savary, has purchased the Eastbury Hotel located in the Sherborne, Dorset.
The 23-bedroom hotel has been owned and managed by Paul and Nicky King for the past 17 years. De Savary said: “The staff at the hotel are one of its great assets” and she is “very much look forward to working with them”.
The de Savarys have owned and operated numerous internationally luxury hotels and clubs for the past 40 years. Their portfolio includes the Cary Arms & Spa, the St James’s Clubs, Skibo Castle, Bovey Castle, Cherokee Plantation and Carnegie Abbey Club.
De Savary said: “We hope to further invest in the hotel to maintain its reputation and, subject to planning approval, add a few additional luxurious rooms as well as a boutique spa facility for hotel guests.
“I was particularly attracted to the Eastbury which is a period country house with lovely gardens, extraordinarily situated in the heart of the charming and quintessentially English town of Sherborne.”
