Hotel du Vin today appointed Benjamin Bel as its new general manager of the Hotel du Vin in Edinburgh.
He is already familiar with the Hotel du Vin group, having spent the last two years as general manager at Malmaison Aberdeen.
The 47-bedroom property is located within Edinburgh’s Old Town, which was previously a poor house, then an 18th Century asylum and then a science laboratory before it became a hotel.
Bel said: “Having worked in Scotland for nearly 10 years, I’m very excited to now be moving to the capital of this beautiful country. The hotel already has a great reputation and relationship with the local community – it is one of the many things that drew me to it, and is something the team and I will continue to build on.”
Nick Halliday, CEO of Hotel du Vin, said: “With Benjamin’s great work at Malmaison, his growing reputation within the group and extensive experience, I am delighted to have him at Hotel du Vin, and look forward to building on the success of the hotel.”
