Having joined the Belfry in 2018 as general manager, Eigelaar deemed it an “honour” to take on the promotion.
Speaking on his appointment to the role, he said: “It is an honour to take on the role of resort general manager and continue to deliver and build on what we’ve created at the Belfry and ensure we retain our position as a major player in the hospitality industry.”
Despite the hospitality industry being greatly damaged by the global pandemic, the Belfry has continued to gain accolades for its services to the sector.
The resort was recently revealed as the hosts for the British Masters 2021, and has retained its position as the world’s best golf hotel at the world travel awards.
Eigelaar added that while there is “still a long road ahead”, with vaccinations commencing across the country there is “light at the end of the tunnel”.
