Taj names new UK area director and London GM

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), South Asia’s largest hospitality company, with its hotels Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences and St James Court, a Taj Hotel in London has appointed a new area director – UK and general manager.
In her new role, Mehrnavaz Avari, who has been associated with the group for over two decades, will continue to “enhance the customer centricity and operational excellence of the two hotels”.
Prior to this role, Mehrnavaz was the deputy GM of the landmark hotel – The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai in India. She has also held leadership positions at the marquee Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur and Taj Palace, New Delhi.
As one of the youngest GMs in the company, IHCL said she has achieved several awards and accolades. Starting her career as a management trainee, she graduated in hospitality followed by a Masters of Management at the renowned Cornell University in New York and Nanyang University in Singapore.
Located near Victoria station and Buckingham Palace, Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences and St. James’ Court Hotel in central London offers 65 suites, five restaurants and a spa.
