In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Rockliffe Hall, a five-star hotel in County Durham, has announced the appointment of Peter Bell as wellbeing manager.

In this newly created role, Bell will be responsible for developing the “ultimate wellbeing framework” at Rockliffe Hall, managing the needs of all employees and guests at the site.

For guests, Bell has created three new day retreats, launching in September 2021, each with the aim of “achieving a sense of contentment, invigoration and relief from stress”.

Each retreat includes four hours of “switch-off time” in the spa, two-course lunch in the hotel’s restaurant Nu Sana, alongside a focus around a specific wellness area such as Nordic Walking or meditation. Each retreat day is priced at £90pp.

Bell joins from the health and fitness industry, where he spent 25 years “promoting” health and wellbeing strategies in the sector.

Rockliffe Hall is set within 375 acres of grounds on the banks of the River Tees just outside the village of Hurworth. Currently, it houses 61 bedrooms.
