The Glazebrook House Hotel and Restaurant closed its doors this past weekend after an eight-year run.
However, the four-star boutique hotel in Devon will continue providing Glazebrook House as an events venue after its closure.
The house will be made available for use on a limited, exclusive-use only basis.
Pieter and Fran Hamman, the owners of the Glazebrook House, said the closure follows surviving the impact of Covid–19 and “deep reflection” on the exit strategy for their business.
They purchased the hotel in 2013 and reopened its doors after a “significant” refurbishment in 2014.
The Hammans said: “As might be imagined this decision was a painful one, as the joy of being able to host you, our guests, over the past almost eight years has been indescribable.
“Adding to the pain will be saying farewell to all the wonderful staff we have been so fortunate to work with, and without whom the overall success of our business wouldn’t have been possible. Fran and I are deeply indebted to their service and their help in creating the magical place that Glazebrook House has become known to be.”
