Graham and Sibbald Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants has reported a tenfold increase in the number of hotel and leisure transactions since 2019, witnessing a 42% increase in the total year-on-year sales and a 75% increase in transactional values and rental agreements.
The company has reported a “record number” of annual transactions for the team, and the volume of hotel and leisure valuation instructions has “notably” increased in the UK throughout 2021.
It is now “excellently placed and structured” to continue this success and growth nationally in the year ahead.
Graham and Sibbald said that despite the ongoing health crisis, “it is clear that there are still keen buyers and investors out there” looking to take on hotels, guesthouses, holiday parks, restaurants, pubs and bars, cafes and leisure facilities.
Peter Seymour, hotel and leisure director at Graham and Sibbald, said: “We have more than doubled our previous annual results and we are delighted to see our expanding team of experienced professionals going from strength to strength.
“In Scotland, we have seen great success with several market leading and high profile sales from the Western Isles to the North, with our industry specialist Alistair Letham boasting a number of sales throughout the year including The Jura Hotel, Isle of Jura most recently.”
He added: “While in England, our team handled disposals and oversaw transactions from as far South as Somerset, through the Midlands and across the North of England.”
