Supercity to open new Edinburgh aparthotel

The company has a further two sites under development in York and Leeds

Supercity Aparthotels, the luxury serviced apartment provider, has announced plans for a new aparthotel in Edinburgh.

The development of 57 luxury suites will incorporate Playfair House and the Category B Listed Forth House in the city’s New Town district.

Independently owned and operated, Supercity Aparthotels has grown to six properties across London, Manchester, and Brighton over the past 13 years.

The company has a further two sites under development in York and Leeds, due to open next year. In Edinburgh, this new development on Forth Street and Broughton Street Lane will commence later this year with plans to open in 2023 also.

Chairman of Supercity Aparthotels, Roger Walters, said: “We are thrilled to continue our expansion across key UK cities and delighted to have secured such a beautiful location in Edinburgh.

“The new development will retain the historic façade of Forth House and transform the existing Playfair House to sensitively incorporate old and new. We look forward to welcoming our guests and introducing new ones to the iconic city of Edinburgh.”

Managing director of Supercity Aparthotels, Philip J Houghton, added: “Our ongoing investment in the company has continued to position us strongly to grow and achieve our expansion plans. This new location in Edinburgh will beautifully complement our pipeline developments to maintain Supercity Aparthotels’ position as a leading UK provider of serviced apartment hotels.”
