Dorsett Hospitality International has announced that Makie Chu has been appointed as the general manager of Dorsett City London, the group’s second hotel in the UK.
Chu brings with her over 20 years of hospitality involvement having worked in a variety of regions worldwide such as the UK, Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau. Her portfolio includes several senior regional executive positions notably with the Four Seasons, Shangri-La and The Westin Hotel Group.
The 13-storey, 267-room hotel opened in July last year and features two restaurants, a 24-hour gym, four meeting rooms and a newly opened rooftop terrace bar.
Dorsett City London in Aldgate is Dorsett Hospitality International’s second hotel in the UK, after the Dorsett Shepherds Bush property.
Rebecca Kwan, head of UK operations UK and senior VP of UK sales, said: “We are extremely thrilled and excited with the appointment of Makie as general manager of Dorsett City, London. With her extensive hospitality experience and expertise as well as her sharp business and marketing acumen, we are confident Makie will be one of our most important talents and will definitely add great value to our UK operations.
“We look forward to Makie’s dynamic leadership in leading the team at Dorsett City London forward to the next level of success and to firmly place the Dorsett brand in the UK/Europe market.”
