The Cromlix hotel in Dunblane Scotland has announced that it is to undergo a major refurbishment and will move to a self management model.
It confirmed that it would close the hotel for three months on 3 January 2023 for around three months to allow for work to commence on improving bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, including the restaurant, and the grounds around it.
The hotel owned by Sir Andy Murray and Kim Murray had been run by Inverlochy Castle Management International since they purchased it in 2013 but it is believed the Murray’s would like to take a more hands on approach.
The hotel also confirmed three new appointments including Barry Makin as general manager, Emily Shields as new head of Sales and Marketing and Neville Ablitt as non-executive director.
Makin was formerly GM at The Scotsman Hotel and Hotel Indigo, both in Edinburgh. Shields was senior event sales manager at The Royal Yacht Britannia and held roles at
Dundas Castle, Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, Ablitt has worked in the five-star luxury hotel sector for over thirty years both in an executive and non-executive capacity.
