Greenwood Grange, an award-winning holiday cottage complex situated near the birthplace of one of England’s most influential novelists and poets, Thomas Hardy, has been brought to market for offers in excess of £2,500,000.
The holiday cottage complex in Higher Bockhampton, Dorset is 10 minutes’ drive from Dorchester and 15 minutes from the Jurassic Coast.
The site is set over 7.5 acres and located on the edge of Thorncombe Woods an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The complex features 16 converted former farm buildings all named after characters and places from Thomas Hardy’s novels. It also features an indoor heated swimming pool and sauna, six hot tubs, two games rooms, two tennis courts, children’s play area, enclosed dog walking area and office block.
Matthew Smith, partner at the Hotel Agency at Knight Frank, who is handling the sale, said: “Greenwood Grange provides an excellent complex of furnished contemporary barns and cottages with an array of on-site facilities to accommodate family holidays and large gatherings.
“Given the demand for domestic holidays the business traded extremely well in 2022 and looks set for another great year. The business benefits from further value-add opportunities including planning permission to convert a derelict barn to create 4 additional holiday cottages”
He added: “We anticipate high levels of interest due to the flexibility and growth potential of the site.”
