Penta Hotels has enlisted the talent of experienced hotel manager Scott Girling to take the lead as general manager at Pentahotel Ipswich.
He replaces the departing Serhan Ilker, who previously managed the hotel from 2017. Prior to joining Penta, Girling worked across the UK with hotel management service Kew Green Hotels for over 13 years. He had previously began his career in hospitality with management positions at Holiday Inn, after transitioning from food and beverage into management.
Pentahotel Ipswich was opened in August 2014 and underwent a £2m refurbishment which was completed in 2016.
The hotel is located in the heart of Ipswich, right on the River Orwell, and just a 5-minute walk from the station and close to Gippeswyk Park, restaurants, shops and bars. With 126 rooms over three floors, the hotel offers onsite parking and a gym which is open 24 hours.
Girling said: “I am delighted to be joining the Penta brand, and especially the hotel in Ipswich. I’m excited to embark on a new challenge with a genuinely forward-thinking organisation, and to drive business into the hotel as the industry bounces back after a challenging couple of years.”
