Kew Green Hotels has announced a partnership deal with PoGo to build 40 new EV charging hubs at its hotels Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Voco and Courtyard by Marriott.
The hotels, all located at prime locations across the country, will add around 200 EV charging stations in total, allowing guests to utilise overnight charging as well as ultra-rapid charging. The ultra-rapid charging can also be utilised by the public.
The firm said as Kew Green Hotels moves closer to its Net Zero commitments, the relationship with PoGo will support its mission to provide customers with sustainable offerings as the energy used to power the PoGo charging stations will be 100% renewable energy.
The addition of EV charging also supports Kew Green Hotel’s ESG goals and its commitment to reach Net Zero emissions by 2040 – 10 years ahead of the Paris Accord Target.
Chris Dexter, CEO for Kew Green Hotels, said: “We are always embracing new ways to positively contribute to the world around us, and we know that our guests are looking to do more too.
“We have recently become Planet Mark certified and we are committed to making year-on-year reductions to our CO2 footprint. We are taking a very holistic view to make this happen, which includes a number of operational changes and initiatives that give our guests choices to be more sustainable.”
He added: “Providing access to EV charging will not only offer more choice for our guests but partnering with PoGo means we’ll also be able to extend this access into the wider EV driver community, something we are very keen to do.”
