The Ebrington Hotel in Derry has reopened following a £16m refurbishment of the Ebrington Barracks site including the historic Clock Tower.
The hotel has 89 bedrooms and includes four signature suites with views of the river Foyle and entire cityscape.
Guests also have complimentary use of spa and leisure facilities which include a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pool and gym.
Alongside this, Noel McMeel has joined the hotel as executive chef heading up its 142 cover restaurant.
McMeel is known as the “King of Irish Cuisine” and will champion the use of fresh seasonal, hand-selected ingredients across all his menus.
Cecil Doherty, managing director, said: “This hotel marks a new beginning for Derry and the wider tourism in Northern Ireland. We are proud of the new-look property and the new team we have in place.
“The hotel is well placed for access to the city centre across the famous peace bridge, golf courses, walking trails at St Columbs Park and cultural discoveries in the city town with local artisans and its various arts like tile/dish painting, tapestry or basketry. We also have a luxurious spa, where guests can indulge in exclusive face and body therapies with local organic ingredients.”
The hotel overlooks the river Foyle and the Peace Bridge and is less than 5 minutes’ walk to the Guildhall Square.
