The Varsity Hotel and Spa in Cambridge is investing £2m to fully refurbish all 44 of its guest bedrooms.
The scheme will be completed by January 2019 and according to the group will help the hotel increase trade and add 22 jobs to the local economy.
Each of the newly designed rooms will feature herringbone wood flooring, handmade rugs and patterned wallpaper from the British Designers Guild and interior decorating business, Colefax and Fowler. The rooms will also feature sandstone bathrooms with underfloor heating and a monsoon shower or Victorian free-standing bath-tub.
Roberto Pintus, general manager, said: “We are extremely pleased to announce a £2m refurbishment of our 44 guest rooms. The new design reflects the heart of the hotel and represents our constant desire to ensure that all guests have the best experience possible.”
