Albion Aberteifi, a newly renovated hotel in Cardigan, West Wales and the latest edition to Fforest’s portfolio, has recently appointed Jack Scott as general manager.
Outdoor lifestyle pioneer and staycation retreat favourite, fforest opened the Grade II listed, former granary storehouses, last July. Alive with historical treasures, the hotel is themed around Cardigan’s maritime past and the local legend of the brig, Albion, which sailed 180 passengers from Cardigan to Canada in 1819.
The hotel will provide a permanent legacy of that voyage, an adventurous spirit and will unite the ever-expanding fforest brand across both sides of the River Teifi.
Fforest is a family-run business, conceived by husband and wife who are former property designers and textile artists in Shoreditch, James Lynch and Sian Tucker. They run the three fforest locations across Cardigan – fforest Farm, fforest Coast and in town apartments and culinary venues such as Pizzatipi.
Scott is a local man, born and raised in Wales, before setting off to London to start a career in hospitality at 17.
He has had a long career in the hospitality industry as a bartender, working his way up the ranks at The London Cocktail Club, Opium, Mahiki and Callooh Callay. He was then asked to go overseas to Trinidad and Tobago and launch a restaurant with a friend called Cazabon.
Scott then came back to work at the famous members club, Annabels, serving some of the biggest names in entertainment and becoming Maitre D. From there he went to study Forbes five star service at Pan Pacific Hotel Group and opened a destination cocktail bar called Silverleaf.
He believes in hard work and passion. At the Albion he hopes to bring a warm welcoming atmosphere where great service and culture prosper.
