Cedar Court Hotel Bradford has reopened its doors to guests following an extensive £1m refurbishment including a full overhaul of its conference and hotel facilities inspired by the city’s industrial heritage and prioritising the sustainability of the hotel.
The hotel is part of Yorkshire’s largest independent hotel group, Cedar Court Hotels, which turns over £18m annually and attracts 500,000 visitors to its four hotels across Yorkshire.
Whilst more than 10% of all UK independent hotels have closed in the past few years, Cedar Court Hotels Yorkshire has invested £3.2 million into its portfolio of properties.
The six-month refurbishment includes upgraded and refreshed bedrooms, corridors, lounge and bar areas, restaurant, meeting rooms and a new ground floor coworking space and restaurant.
With a tree in the centre to symbolise the Cedar Court brand, the new space offers a new place for local professionals to meet, work, collaborate and relax.
Cedar said sustainability and celebrating the city’s industrial heritage “have been at the heart of the renovations”, with a £250k investment into solar panels to reduce costs and minimise the hotel’s environmental footprint.
Wayne Topley, managing director, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming guests back to Cedar Court Hotel Bradford after six months of refurbishment and part of our £3.2m investment across the region.
“We wanted to create light, open and contemporary multi-use spaces to support the overall purpose of the hotel which is to bring people together and solidify our role as not just a hotel but as a pivotal business and community hub in the region.”
He added: “We know how important it is to work closely with our local community, and we’re excited to be welcoming business leaders and professionals to celebrate, network and create new opportunities to work together ahead of the 2025 City of Culture.”
