Gibbon Bridge Hotel hits the market

The country house hotel is situated in nine acres of landscaped gardens with planning permission granted for additional bedrooms and leisure facilities

The freehold of Gibbon Bridge Hotel and Restaurant in Chipping, Lancashire, has hit the market for an undisclosed sum.

The hotel is arranged over the ground and first floors and comprises 30 en-suite bedrooms with two accessible rooms, and a separate bridal apartment.

The wedding venue includes three function rooms – the conservatory, the orangery and the cavalier lounge – for up to 130 guests. Alternatively, the function rooms can be used for other events including business conferences, christenings, wakes and family gatherings.

Externally, the country house hotel is situated in nine acres of landscaped gardens with planning permission granted for additional bedrooms and leisure facilities.

Gibbon Bridge has a bar and separate restaurant that provides formal dining. In addition, the property also offers BBQ facilities, a garden bandstand, a tennis court, a helipad, as well as staff accommodation and proprietor’s house.

Clitheroe and Longridge are situated within 7 miles of the hotel, providing an array of independently owned shops, pubs, restaurants and regular markets that offer locally sourced food. It also benefits from close proximity to tourist attractions such as Clitheroe Castle, Hoghton Tower, Pendle Hill and Trough of Bowland, which are all within 10 miles.

Tom Cunningham, UK regional director, hotel capital markets, Savills Manchester, said: “Gibbon Bridge Hotel and Restaurant is located in the heart of the Forest of Bowland which is one of the most visited areas in East Lancashire. The property has been extended and refurbished over 40 years to an excellent standard and the buyer has the option to add further value through already granted planning permissions.

“This is a unique opportunity to acquire a stunning development and we expect a high level of interest from a variety of investors.”
